For 2015-2016, Joel Roggeman was chosen by the faculty as the outstanding undergraduate student for his academic excellence and in his participation in extracurricular activities that support the CS Department. Joel has a CS GPA of 4.0, and overall GPA of 3.967, and has received 6 A+ grades in CS courses. In addition to his strong academics, Joel is a math minor, has done research in collaboration with Dr. Alex Labrinidis, is a peer tutor in the CS Resource Center, and is the Computer Science Club business manager. Mohamed Aly, under the advising of Panos Chrysanthis and Kirk Pruhs, received his Ph.D. in 2009. In 2011, he founded his own start-up called Seeloz.

Pitt undergrad senior Sarah Dubnik, a Computer Science and Chemistry major, has advanced to the finals of the Collegiate Jeopardy tournament. Sarah will compete for the National Championship on WPXI television (channel 11) this evening at 7PM. Congrats to Sarah!!!

Pitt Senior Computer Science and Chemistry major Sarah Dubnik will appear on the "Jeopardy!" College Championship tonight! Sarah's Quarterfinal Match airs on WPXI at 7pm! This two-week "Jeopardy!" tournament features 15 students competing for $100,000 and a spot in the show's Tournament of Champions! Good Luck Sarah!!
