Computer Science Students Enter Randall Family Big Idea Competition

Congrats to all of the Computer Science students that entered the Randall Family Big Idea Competition! The Department of Computer Science had the most students enter the competition out of any other department in the Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences! A special congrats to the CS students that made it to the 3rd & final round of the competition, Deeksha Gupta, Zhijie Wang, Ashish Juneja, Charles Kiorpes, David Tsui, David Duan and Tayane Silva Fernandes de Moura!

The Provost's Award for Excellence in Mentoring recognizes University of Pittsburgh faculty who demonstrate outstanding mentoring of graduate students. The University strives to train the next generation of professional scholars, and the faculty who provide both intellectual and personal leadership to support and promote personal and professional development to students are recognized by this award for their efforts. Breaking the 300-Mark: CS Declared Majors are at an All-Time High This year the Department of Computer Science is proud to announce that we have over 300 declared CS students. This is the most declared CS majors that we have ever had in department history. With the realization that Computer Science and Computing is a huge part of our present, as well as our future, more and more students have been choosing computer science as their major.
