Thank you for your interest in our PhD program and Machine Learning. I apologize in advance 
for not being able to answer all email inquiries about the PhD program in machine learning I receive.
Please read the following information regarding the PhD study. 

If you are interested in pursuing a PhD in machine learning you may want to consider applying to either our 
our Computer Science (CS) or Intelligent Systems Program (ISP). Both programs are part of School of Computing and Information (SCI): 
www.sci.pitt.edu.   

Please note that all admission decisions at the University of Pittsburgh and its programs are made by
respective admission committees and not individual faculty. For both CS and ISP this process is very competitive. Only after being
successfully admitted to the program students are matched with potential advisers based on their field 
of interest. Therefore, if you are admitted to one of our programs and your interest is
in machine learning please stop by in my office or drop me an email identifying yourself as an incoming student
interested in machine learning.
