Graduate Advising

Graduate students in Computer Science (be it MS or PhD) have two different types of advisors, depending on their status in the program:

  • Temporary, academic advisors are faculty members assigned to incoming graduate students upon entry to the program.

  • Permanent, research advisors are faculty members who agree to closely supervise a graduate student, by being their PhD/MS committee chair.
